Welcome to the Freger research group!

Join us to explore the exciting world of membrane science and engineering!

We work on diverse projects in the fields of water and energy. We explore novel types of membranes such polyelectrolyte complex membranes for water purification and electrospun composite membranes for fuel cells and electrolyzers. We also want to understand how membranes work at the fundamental level using advanced experiments and molecular modeling (DFT, MD, QMD).

We look for motivated graduate students for MSc and PhD projects. For details, contact Prof. Slava Freger vfreger@technion.ac.il

Preparing nafion-based fuel cell membranes using electrospinning technique. Orientation of the resulting fiber using pressure. Study of conductive properties
Modeling the water and ion transport through a membrane pore using modern calculation techniques like DFT, and classical as well as quantum molecular dynamics. The demand for skilled modeling professionals is constantly growing
Experimental and theoretical investigation of deposition of bacteria and particles on surfaces as a cause of biofouling. Chemical modification of surfaces. Modeling of particle/surface interactions and hydrodynamics of deposition
